The purpose for the section is to provide articles and posting that will help superintendents to support outstanding schools. We expect the participants to share strategies that increase the overall graduation rate of each school district.

Goodloe-Johnson took the helm of Seattle schools a year ago Wednesday. At the time, public confidence in the district was low, the relationship with the mayor was strained and some in the community questioned whether she was right for the job. A year later, Goodloe-Johnson has earned respect for her no-nonsense style, her willingness to publicly acknowledge problems and her vision for turning Seattle Public Schools into one of the nation's best districts.
