Focus on Goals

Setting goals to meet each day is instrumental practice to move an entire organization forward.  Learn some of the strategies you can use.

The way that you think has a large influence on your ability to achieve your personal goals and successful life experiences.  Do you wake up in the morning with a positive attitude about the goals that you plan to accomplish?   Do you have a set of activities that you do in the morning to get you prepared for the day?  Your brain awakes waiting for orders for the day.  Are you telling your mind that you are about to have a horrible day?  Your mind is available for positive thoughts and before the day becomes cluttered with negative images feed your mind good thoughts.  Many of us are in too much of a rush in the morning to control our thoughts so we end up thinking the same thoughts we thought yesterday and we end up getting the same negative results.  Take time to read and pray in the morning and it will put your mind on the right track.  Remember your successes and focus on how you will achieve your next goal.

Every time I see the Mayor of Philadelphia in public he reminds his audience that he is having a good day.  In my mind I know that he is having all kind of challenges throughout the day but it is clear to me that he has determined to accept and focus on the positive rather than the negative.  What are your goals?  What are your dreams for today?  You should have a list of all the things that you plan to accomplish for the day.  That list may be in a book you keep or in your schedule for the week.  You can actually check them off as you accomplish your goals.  You can post some of these sheets in your bedroom to remind you of the things that you are able to accomplish.  Every time I hear the stories of men and women who are in their sixties, seventies and eighties who have graduated from college I am amazed.  They are individuals who wake up each morning not focusing on their age but on what they can accomplish with their lives.

What should you to do? Focus on success rather than failure.  You must be willing to fight for successful thoughts because seventy five percent of messages we receive from the news is negative.  Having an attitude of success all begins from the moment you wake up until the end of your day.  Individuals who wake up with a positive attitude about each life experience can expect better outcomes.  Your mind and body are waiting for you to wake up with enthusiasm about your day.  Don’t allow your mind to get cluttered get help when you need it and thank the person who has given their time to help you.  Put people around you who have a success focus and who expect you to succeed.  It is true that birds of a feather flock together.  If you hang around with negative people all the time you will have negative conversations and a negative results in your life.  Here are some things you can do to maintain a success focus:

1.         Keep a success journal where you write down all of your accomplishments.

2.         Encourage other people throughout the day (i.e. student, family, friends, and children).

3.         Study books about successful people.

4.         Listen to tapes or CD’s of motivational speakers.

5.         Renew your spirit on a daily basis through prayer and meditation

6.         Meet with a teacher or mentor who has a positive influence in your life

7.         Never give up on your hopes and dreams

8.         Remember that your mind is like a sponge it is waiting for you to inspire it with positive thoughts
